Nitecore EA81 - Partially defective tail cap (only works one way)

Hi All,

I have a couple different Nitecore EA81s and I noticed that on one of them, the tailcap is partially defective - if I turn the tailcap 180 degrees, it will no longer work. I confirmed that the problem is isolated to the tailcap because if I swap the cap to the other light, I have the exact same problem. The tailcap only works turned one way. The "good" tailcap does not have this problem.

There is nothing visually wrong with the tailcap... they both look exactly the same. Plus... as far as I know the EA81 runs all 8 batteries in series so the orientation of the cap should have no impact.

Anyone have any ideas about what is wrong or if there is an easy way to fix it without doing more damage?

defective tail cap. NC seems to be reverting back to its old sub par ways lately. I would return it for exchange or refund if possible.

Yeah, disappointing for an otherwise seemingly well-built light.
