I'm looking at getting an older Surefire forend like this:

Would a standard Surefire 6PX head or head with body be compatible to replace the old incandescent light assembly? Are the threads the same?
Thanks guys

Using the stock pieces and only changing out the P60 lamp, Malkoff or Nailbender drop-ins made to fit a Surefire 6P will fit. Some people have reported them dropping right in with no issue, but I had to apply some judicious dremel work to get a Malkoff M61 to fit.

Malkoff also makes units that replace the entire head and body that screws into the forend.

The 6PX head is self contained and won't screw onto that forend.

I have have the exact same SF fore end. I upgraded with a 2 cell LED conversion that SF used to sell based on a modified Surefire L2 body (looked exactly like an L2 cutdown). This Led upgrade shows as discontinued also. I purchased it at least 5+ years ago and is still in use. My SF fore end was originally a 3 cell 9 volt incan setup based on a SF M3 head.
