SOG Dark Energy flashlights?

A friend of mine is looking to get one of the SOG Dark Energy flashlights. They look to be good quality and have a "Lifetime Warranty" but I have never seen anything about them even mentioned here on CPF so I'm wondering if anyone has used them? Would you recommend them?
How aren't they compared to a Surefire?
