Pelican 7600 battery question

Hello, I am wondering for those who've used this light, can it only be charged using the proprietary 2600 mAh battery it comes with via USB? The battery has a plastic ring around the button top and doesn't make contact in a D4 charger. Can I use a 3400 mAh 18650 in it instead? How would that affect performance and run time? Is it safe to use the higher mAh battery?

The 7600 comes with proprietary battery and that battery CAN NOT be charged in a different charger. You're stuck with the in-light charging option.
Since is comes with a proprietary battery, I wouldn't recommend to try charging a different (standard 18650) battery in it.

Ok, so the proprietary battery is the only one that can be charged in the light via USB. What if I want to use one of my other 18650s like an Orbtronic 3400 mAh battery. Is that safe to use but just not charge in it?

I guess it's possible. Olight also has lights with their own proprietary battery but still accepts normal 18650s. But would advise to check with Pelican CS first.

I spoke with Pelican CS, and they said to only use the proprietary battery to charge via USB, but I can use other 18650s in the light, just don't charge them.
