Klarus Mi7 Ti Rust Issue

Hello everyone,

I have been carrying my Mi7 Ti for the past few days, and now I notice there are rust spots on the handle knurling (the deep lines on the body).

Is this rust normal for TC4 Titanium Alloy?

Titanium does not rust. I don't know what you're seeing but it isn't rust. Maybe take the corner of a kitchen scrubbie or some fine steel wool and rub at it. I'm sure it will come off easily.

Yesterday, I tried removing the spots using a nylon detailing brush, a dry toothbrush, and a plastic toothpick/spudger, but could not get the things off.

Just now, I got some 70% isopropyl alcohol and put a small amounts (drops) on the "rusted" areas. After a few minutes, I went at it again with the detailing brush and after more than a few strokes, off they came.

The areas are now clean!

Awesome! I was thinking too it could have been some kind of polishing compound or something used in finishing the light that got stuck in the grooves. Who knows - anyways all is well that ends well. Enjoy the light.
