Hello to all a few days ago in a store i saw some models of the surefire 9p:
The original version with lamp, led version, the "laser" version and then I saw a "laser" version that did not have the whole cylindrical head but had the latest one with the hexagonal base
Is a model that was produced on the other 2 versions or the dealer replaced the head because maybe the original one was damaged?

Remember that the original name of Surefire was Laser Products. When you say the 'laser' version, are you referring to the name Laser products, or an actual laser emitter on the light? As one may infer, Laser Products made things like targeting lasers before they started making flashlights. I would suspect that the hexagonal base head was a replacement, probably for the reason you mentioned. If there is an actual light labeled Laser Products with the original incan head, you ought to snap it up. There are collectors that would be very interested in obtaining such a light.
