nitecore mt26

I have a nitecore MT26 and recently replaced the CR123 batteries after my wife told me they had died, but after trying two sets of new batteries, I am getting nothing. The unit is 18 months old with low usage. Any suggestions?

have you tried screw the tailcap tightly ? or maybe the batteries was reversed
