I'm looking at getting a Photon but wondered how the covert differs from the standard model?

slip 2 or 3 inches of pipe/tubing or even cardboard over the end of any flashlight. shine on wall. Slip it off and shine on wall again. Same effect. No side spill.

The covert Photon is a nice light. I don't like the excessive side spill from most button cell lights. This design eliminates the spill. The CMG Sonic's beam is almost identical to the covert Photon. Also, because of its design, the Inova Microlight has a very covert-like beam, and for some bucks less than a Photon.

I have a couple covert models, and I like them. I like the fact that light doesn't shine back in my eyes, effectively cancelling out some of the output of the light. It's also nice if you need to use a light, but don't want to attract a lot of attention, like in a restaurant or theater, or when a passenger in a car. It's less likely to distract the driver.
