I recently got into metal detecting and I like to go out in the evenings or early mornings sometime when there is no light out. What I want to do is figure out a way to back light my LCD screen so I can see it at night. The detector runs on 4AA batteries. What kind of led/driver would I need for this? Also, I only want the light to come on through the pinpoint switch. Is something like this possible? I'm not too worried about the pinpoint switch but it would be cool to automatically turn the light on when I hit that button so I guess I'll have to figure out how many amps or volts that little switch can handle. Anybody have any ideas? I know it's a little off topic but I figured I would ask. Thanks in advance for any comments or ideas!
