Hello there! Its been a while... :D

Well The reason that I have come back is because one of my favorite EDC (Surefire E2D modded by Scott (milkyspit) ) no longer wants to turn on. I know that he has been having some health issue and to my understanding he no longer hangs around.

Any body out there that can check it and if possible fix it?
I don't mind paying for the service.

TIA!

We're gonna need more details ....
Well it uses IMR 16340.
I remember Scott giving me specific details on how the battery's had to get installed and I cant remember what those detail were...
Other than that.... I just hit the switch and nothing.... I am going to try to see if it turns on with CR123's.... First I have to figure out the battery situation... lol

If you remove the tailcap and touch a wire to the end of the battery and the body of the light and it lights up, then the switch might be at fault.

Before you try CR123's, make sure the light isn't IMR only! CR123's may exceed the voltage limit.

CPF can be very helpful in troubleshooting things ... but the more info you provide, the better we can assist you

Battery voltage ?
Tried that battery in other light ?
Other (known good) battery swapped in ?

Switch bypass tried ?
Threads cleaned & relubricated ?
Contact points cleaned ?
Springs inspected ?
Any internal debris, broken threads, etc ?
Does it rattle (lol) ?

Driver details (milky "tape" info) ?

Recent unusual functioning ?
Was it dropped ?

Photos ?

Well.... Ya'll are going to laugh... Looks like I had the wrong batteries.... The Light Head is a Gossamer mod with CreeMCE-MWD Quad Core CreeTIR.
The driver is a Acorn 1.3 (Califon Firmware)
Works with a 2x Rechargeable and 3x Primary cell.

I found some old AW IMR 3.7 550mAh, Recharged them and the light worked!
I dont trust this battery's though... They are about 8yrs old....

Do you guys know if this battery's will work?
Olight 16340 550mAh 3.7v Batteries (IMR 16340)

Olight claims this batterys only work with their lights....

Or do you know a trusted place where I can buy some good IMR's?

Before we send this thread to the history books. Just for the record that lithium primary cr123 is of lower voltage and than lithium rechargeable

What kind of batteries you use with your light?

I been trying to look for IMR's 550 and it has been impossible... :(
