Was looking at Yellow Gum Park, Plenty on Google Maps.... looks interesting. Anyone knows if there's 24hr access?

It does look an interesting spot. According to the blurb, it does have 24 hr access, but I couldn't see anything else on it, like getting in or out after dark. A good looking picnic area with electric BBQ's and a roofed area similar to what Cardinia had, also. I think Greensborough bypass, Diamond Creek rd andYan yean rd then onto Memorial Drive for access. Anyone see a better description of the place, other than Parks Vic?

I will recon the place one of these nights and report back. Probably post a dash cam video of the road in and the car park.

Good idea Gav. As long as the potholes arent too big. According to that vid they are, but those city folk might have exagerated a bit. The lake looks a good spot to light up.

I know bdogps+ is rostered on work that night. I'm cool either way if we meet or not. Maybe springtime is good for others. Its probably too early to call yet though. Three might be a bit small for a meet. May get a couple more takers in a couple of weeks possibly.....still four weeks to go.

    Hmmmmm .

    Is it - Location / location / location ?

Perhaps we should set out a Calendar for meets .. ( ? )

Interest does seem a little light weight ATM , .....

A provisional calendar might help people plan for the meet .. https://www.timeanddate.com/moon/pha...alia/melbourne

Hope things go ok for you Gav.

Is it worth calling nay, and looking at sometime during Spring??? I think its down to Simon and Matt and myself at this point. I'm happy to postpone till then. Maybe suitable for a few more people at that time. Haha, might even be able to sneek in a couple of new torches between now and then without ' SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED ' noticing.......

I was hesistant about sharingthe reason for my pull out at first, but its an issue a lot of us men may have to deal with, so here goes: my older brother in Singapore has got Stage 2 prostate cancer and is going for a radical prostatectomy during the week of the meet. So my parents and I are traveling to Singapore to be with him during this difficult time. Apologies once again for pulling out last minute.

Understand totally, my dad lost his prostate to cancer, and survived it. I am on six month checkups forever, or until the same happens. Again, good luck and best regards.

Correct me if i'm wrong guys, but the easiest way seems to be ( to me anyway ) Ring Road, left onto the Greensborough Bypass, turns into Diamond Creek Road, left onto Yan Yean Road, left onto Memorial Drive, then left into Goldsworthy Lane and follow around to parking area/BBQ area. Looks like Goldsworthy Lane is the only dirt road. The weather is meant to be pretty cool by next weekend, but I don't think there is any rain forecast. Looks like about 200Mts to play with from the BBQ area back to the road, and the lake ( a short walk ) appears to be about 150Mts from end to end. Does anyone know if its 24 Hr access?? I lose the ball and chain and son from Thursday till Sunday, so barring crap weather, i'll be there.

    Mike.

    Have you been there Matt??

Yuuuuck. You're probably closest geographically to the place Matt. I would leave here at about 3:00pm if its on. I dont know about Simon and Chris what time they would need to leave.
See what happens on the day, and if its crappy, then a Springtime meet may be the go!?
