Some effects of various Batteries, Lux and fc's in some common lights and beam output

For your consideration as to curiosity regarding the effects batteries have on some common lights.

I used my high-end Luna Pro light meter (I do professional architectural photography on occasion) to measure the beam centers of my lights all on turbo or highest modes to see what difference batteries made to the output. Nothing too laboratory, but done in my cellar under identical conditions for each. The AW's jack up the Lux in a few cases - the S2R Baton seeing a dramatic difference in the field. In the case of the Alpha, the AW's output is less. The equivalent values shown in Lux & Foot Candles (fc) are approximate. Meter was set to ASA 50 with diffuser to corrolate Lux with EV & Foot Candles.


Note: All measurements on Turbo/High @ in a centered beam distance of: +- 16.5' from the LED.

photography, exposure value (EV) is a number that represents a combination of a camera's shutter speed and f-number, such that all combinations that yield the same exposure have the same EV (for any fixed scene luminance). Exposure value is also used to indicate an interval on the photographic exposure scale, with a difference of 1 EV corresponding to a standard power-of-2 exposure step, commonly referred to as a stop.[1]
