Not your typical flashaholic story but read on,

I was shooting a assignment and it was my first time inside the CSUF Photo studio, if you could call it that. Low ceilings in a 16x20' room, with about 15 old computers in one corner /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif.
Any how, I needed to mount my camera on the tripod via the tripod collar on my 70-200 2.8. The problem: the extra length of my battery grip wouldnt allow it to fit the tripod when I mount it on the tripod collar. I had to shoot directly down onto the floor for correct perspective. I had to remove the battery grip that uses 4AAs, and use the camera's original battery requirement which happen to be 2x123s! Now where would a flashaholic find 2x123s??? Took them out of my A2, mounted the camera and started shooting. If I didnt have the A2 and its 2x123s with me, I would of lost my studio time, wasted an hour on the set up, and have to wait another week before more studio time was available. It was a good time to be a flashaholic!
