Hello,

I recently bought the Eagletac GX30A3D and apparently I got an older version. I compared the picture of flashlight on Eagletac's web site to mine and they are different. The difference is that the end of the diffuser on the newer model it has a silver coating on it. Apparently they call it the Glare Shield. I'm really not noticing any glare on mine in any of the modes. Could anyone here comment on this? Is it worth me returning my flashlight to get a model that has the Glare Shied? I have found another vendor that has the newest version with the Glare Shied.

I love the flashlight. Great UI and amazing throw for such a small flashlight.

Below are pictures of different models.

Thanks!

I have the older model myself and a friend of mine has 2 other models with the same dual mode light. I had an email exchange with an eagtac rep a while back, it's more of a metal ring to protect against drops and damage. The head of the light is a type of plastic, really cool light, but more subject to damage.
