What is the max 18650 you want in 1 light?

Just saw one that will hold 8 18650, dang!

2 is max for me. Series or parallel.

    I have ten lights that hold 4 x 18650.

    I have two lights that hold 8 x 18650.

The max that I want: 21 x 18650 in a light that has seven two-inch non-overlapping XHP35 HI leds. I think this would be the biggest light that I would want.

Normal people walk around with big dogs. They look normal. I walk around with big flashlights. My flashlights have bitten less people then Teds' dog.

I have a Leef 3x18650 body, with a KT-1. I don't think I want to use more than three at one time.

The run time of the Fenix TK75 2018 can be increased with the addition of up to 3 tube extension kits, according to their website. I wouldn't go past two though, and that means 12 batteries in total. Not bad! Yes, the weight....

If it was well-balanced, 8 cells would be okay. I used to carry a 4xD cell mag, last century, so I don't think 8 18650s would be too heavy.

However, I doubt I'd use it much. I have some 4x18650 lights, and none of them see much use beyond the backyard (and that's just for fun). A small 1x18650 light delivers more than enough output and runtime for 99% of uses.

For me, in normal use, I'm somewhere around a max of 4 18650's; but, the overall bulk and weight of the light matters. My Noctigon M43 with 4 cells is downright tiny compared to many other 4x18650's, and gets a lot of use due to its form factor and size--on my bike handlebar, around the house, in the car. At the other end of the size spectrum, my BLF GT with the short tube also has 4x18650's, and is really just a 4-lb. toy I bring out when I want to giggle at a local lake, car camping, etc. (someone else called it "Hulk's light," which I really like).

Probably 12, i find one run kit is enough though. Takes a bit of baby sitting, and swapping out even 8 cells soon becomes a pita. Over 4 cells i prefer built in packs, like the rc40's 6x 18650 and x65 8x 18650's. Just easier to use and charge up. So being realistic, my max for convenience would be 4.
