Hoping to join the party, if all the random factors align.

Edit: This was also meant to include that the first weekend is probably the only one I might be able to do.

Second weekend is better for me. My son starts big school the first week! If it's just the evening, first weekend is fine.

Great to see so many replies (!).

Just to throw a spanner in the works, how about meeting up and staying here?

    https://www.hihostels.com/hostels/yh...BwE#facilities

Old stately home - huge grounds - private rooms with ensuite - very cheap - NO LIGHT POLLUTION!!!!

    How about it?

About £50 each based on full 6x person room for Fri & Sat nights - only 3 rooms left 31-1st Sept.

I'm OK for anywhere ... North or South.
Still like to do a Portmeirion Snowdon railway type thing sometime too ...
    More expensive though

OK - somewhere near Milton Keynes.

    Iron Trunk Aqueduct - MK19 7JR

    Wolverton Viaduct -
    MK19 7AU

Not to mention the Concrete Cows
MK13 0QP (Surely a candidate for this year's "CPF UK" picture)

Or we have miles and miles of the River Ouse to choose.

    Pubs galore -

    Three Cranes, Turvey.
    MK43 8EP
The Navigation Inn, Cosgrove MK19 7BE
    The Swan, Olney
    MK46 4AA

    ...and many more.

Weekend of Friday August 31st, Sat 1st September.

I will try and call you all in the coming week to confirm or hatch ideas. etc.

This is the sort of thing I was talking about treating myself to, Acebeam X70, 60,000 lumen.
    http://www.acebeam.com/x70

Or sticking to the Coke can size I could go up to 32,500 with an X80-GT.

Wow, Jay - that's a lot of output - sunglasses might be necessary!

The way we managed to light up the Willen Peace Pagoda with lesser lights - I think I've attained my optimum output (Until I see your new torch!!!).

Peace Pagoda? WTH? See next post...

CPF in Milton Keynes happened last weekend, roundabouts and all.

    Attending:

Tofty, Blue Led, Petrev, Jay R, Remoteneeded and Nycto (Oh, and my cat).

Chilling out at Cowper's Alcove, Weston Underwood.

Petrev listening to frequencies beyond human tolerances

Jay R and Nycto taking selfies

Tofty increasingly worried about the dominance of Pokemon Go from Remote and Blue (and me out of shot, but it was Shiny Wingull day)

But what about the torches, I imagine you saying, where are the bright lights, the life's blood of our obsession witnessed by our membership of this fine illuminated forum???

Well, this is it - the single shot I took of a torch the entire weekend (a Fenix LD15R by the way), magnetised to Tofty's car engine manifold)

Later on, thoughts turned to supper and we travelled several miles to the Navigation Inn in Cosgrove, on the Grand Union Canal

    Lots of calzone's

    Un-nervingly like a Klingon's forehead.

And then it was time to descend on Willen Lake for some Bhuddist Sparklings

    TOFTY for scale

This is who we are.........and when

We did write other words...and pictures, but this is the only other one suitable here

The next day was relaxed Sunny walks, Crumpets for breakfast, and Sunday Lunch at the Swan.

Cat or Tribble? You decide which is which.

Fully crumpeted up and ready to roll

    Assorted lunches...

    And that was that.

In between the pictures was laughter, chats, indulgence, exercise, sleep, coffee, tea and crumpets.

I have to say - what a lovely bunch of chaps.

    Great weekend.

Let's do it all again soon.

Red Nitecore Tini's are £12.77 at Gearbest at the moment (plus whatever Quidco are doing as cash back). Looks like the aluminium ones have been discontinued and they have loads of red left in stock. Stocking fillers ?

How about a meet by the Ouse Valley Viaduct in Sussex? Looks like it would be good for photo opportunities, particularly looking through all the archways down the length of it.

That seems like a rather splendid idea. It looks like there is a serious lack of parking, so this is something needing a little more thought.

Street view shows a bit of a layby you could fit a few cars in and a bit up the road there is another place.

Ok, I'm calling it. Meet at the Aquaduct let's say... 2nd or 9th of Feb? Pub to be decided. Andy, happy to pick you up on the way. We could start early and spend some time down by Brighton. Richard, we could even pick you up on the way to the pub if you want, visit the viaduct, drop you back off and I can drop Andy off in South or West London after.
