The new Preon P1 Pre-poduction is on sale. https://darksucks.com/products/preon-p1
Anyone here getting it? The efficiency of the light looks to good to be true. I'm bit impressed how much stuff is packed in the light for the price.

Just picked one up in satin nickel!
Looks interesting. Great choice of emitter. Does this have mode memory?
The TK20. Yes, it still rocks- WoodsWalker
There's no memory. You can configure what mode the light starts first.

Grabbed one! They look great and come with a proper LED and clip!

"Memory Function = revert to mode 1"
Indeed it does. Does that mean the light will start from the first cycle in the config? He was asking about mode memory. I thought he meant remembering the last output you used.
Are the runtime tested using the Recyko battery? The runtime is really long compared to your beta lights.
Any ideas if the prototypes were manufactured in California?
wow, satin nickel sold out already.
Ordered one in Polished Nickel just after the sale went live.
I was just going to ask which finish people think will be the most popular. Guess that answers that.
Good think you ordered that already.

Dang, I can't stand mode memory. Really great update to the Preon though, I may get one anyway since it can run single mode.
I tried so hard to convince myself to buy one, but I have 5 P1 originals that don't get enough use already...
Tuxedo black & polished nickel.
I really hope the improved switch is as advertised. I have several previous generation p1 that turn on accidently while clip to my pocket.
I couldn't decide which one to purchase....... Sometimes getting older (61) and not being able to make up one's mind has its advantages.

Sometimes I wonder if I've purchased my last flashlight.
Now I want that knife.
Was that in the specs or description? The only mention of memory I recall was "no memory" regarding the burst function. Can the mode memory be disabled?
This is also on the product page: Memory Function = revert to mode 1
Hopefully that's what you meant by it having memory?

If it has real mode memory, I'll buy two of them to replace L-M-H AAA lights that I have.

The Preon uses a “hybrid” memory where it does remember the last setting, but a mode change reverts back to mode 1. Basically you don’t have to scroll through the whole UI to start at the beginning.
Just ordered one and some extra batteries. I hope the battery hype is real.
One thing i didn’t notice on the website is place of manufacture. Do anybody know where these are actually being made?
I'm not sure I understand this. Let's say I'm on vacation and have the light set to config 4 (low-med-high + burst). I need medium to see my way up the stairs to the condo. Then I put the light on the nightstand and go to bed. If I need to use the toilet a couple hours later, the light will then come on in medium? Or will it revert to mode 1, which would be low?
Foursevens lights were manufactured in China. I was hoping since these were prototypes, we would be fortunate enough to have these made by Jason or his staff.
I think so as well. A light with mode memory can never be trusted [emoji23]
