Interesting. Just thinking about getting that stuff (wallet, keys, phone, glasses, flashlight) out of my pockets especially when traveling long distance by car. I use Vertx Cargo pants now. Never carried in a shoulder holster - which I hope is very different than a man purse. Probably would need a "holster" type holder on each side. Try to keep us in the loop on this design...

That’s a really good idea! I never thought of that before, but now I’m intrigued. Would be an excellent place to put a pocket knife, small light, maybe even wallet and cell phone. Obviously, if you carry a firearm with you, there’s that, too.

Does anyone have both a clicky and a rotary with the same emitter? If so, which emitter? And why?

I have both with 219b 4000 K emitters. I started with the clicky, then talked myself into trying a rotary for the first time. Aside from a clicky 2xAA tube, I have only purchased rotaries since.

I keep diffuse reflector assemblies on the clickies because I use them at higher levels.

I had a clicky, rotary and a tactical with the xpl 3900k warm offering. I couldnt decide which UI is for me. I still can't. It really depends on my mood. I am partial to the clicky, but like the tactical too. I traded away the rotary. If I had to choose one I''d take the clicky. Thankfully I don't have to choose and I plan to keep both.

I'm trying to decide if I want a rotary version of the 4500K R9080. I still have a strong preference for the executive UI, but the rotary is growing on me. This would mean having a duplicate of the emitter.

How deep does the rabbit hole go? I don't want to collect them for collection's sake, but I don't want to lose the opportunity to get one, either. Hmmm...

I have a Tactical high noon, Tactical 250, rotary uv, and rotary 200 4k 219c. I can’t tell any difference between my high noon and 250 SEAL... the 4k has a really nice tint that seems to throw as much as the 250 and high noon and all 3 are so close in terms of throw that I couldn’t decide which was best.
Wanting the sw45 9080 for keeping and the 325 xpg 3 for using. No Clicky for me though

Would you please say a few more words about this? I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean brightness? Throw? Color rendition?

I have a cr123 clicky, 18650 clicky, and edc rotary all in high noon.

i have these because the 5700k 219c is fantastic and combines the attributes that I value in a way that hasn't happened prior. HDS is what i EDC, and what i will continue to edc, no other light compares for me.

I wanted to try the rotary and figured why not get it in an emitter i already adore. The 18650 because the high noon color rendition really shines at higher outputs, and the cr123 clicky to edc (i have been edc'ing my 18650 since i got it though)

i love them all, glad i have them all, and use them on the regular. Rotary in the house and the clickies when I'm on the move.

that said, my next will be a warmer emitter for sure as that was my usual preference prior to the high noon.

.......... a high cri 4-4500 would be about perfect and i will gladly get one when/if it becomes available ........ most likely in a clicky but who knows. So if there is an emitter that you love like a fat kid loves cake, or like i love beef jerkey, then by all means - like the story goes - once its gone.......

250 seal has about 140+ meter throw (you have to really look to see a dark tree or telephone pole... the high noon will let you see the same pole but with a half a cat hair (very thin hair) of a difference but even though the tint looks a bit cool white in both the cri of the high noon offers a very slight advantage. The 4k 219c to my eyes with a more pleasant tint will still appear to reach the same distance as the other two but colors appear to be slightly warmer while still accurate. Will do YouTube comparison when I can do so

    The rabbit hole is deep.

I purchased a Nichia 219b 4000K R9050 in a rotary and Executive mostly because Henry picked that emitter and I knew it had to be good. It is my favorite. Shortly after those purchases Dan launched the F89 (Nichia 219b 4500K R9080), the High Noon, and the UV. I wanted each led emitter but did not want eight (8) HDS lights so I decided to choose a format - Rotary or Executive. I liked the Executive format best and then purchased one of each LED. I sold the rotary which was new and unused. It sold in minutes. Found that the high noon rendered best at 150 to 200 lumens and that the UV worked best on 200 lumens so I also purchased an 18680 Executive battery tube for longer runtimes.

I have had my eyes on the titanium rotary though and I may purchase it with my favorite emitter in the R9080 version.

On your dilemma, purchase both Rotary and Executive. The Rotary should sell very fast if you decide to sell it. If you do not purchase the Rotary from HDS chances are you may never be able to purchase one in the future unless it is on the used market possibly in a configuration that is not your ideal.

Cool Picture If you have time a compare between Titanium, Bronze and Brass would be cool. Would be interesting for me to see the difference between Titanium and aluminum Bronze.

The brass and al-bronze look more similar to each other than I expected. Is that just the picture, or do they look that similar in real life too?

They are pretty close, but the brass is brighter and lighter in color in person.

    A
Titanium question. I missed the pre sale... and information... It sounds like there was a range of choices for the emitter. I assume all the "standard" HDS ones were available. However, it also sounds like there were specific emitter choices just for the
464 Navel Brass, NI-AL Bronze, and Titanium
    .

If one was able to get one of the "extra" special run lights from the presale what LED choices are there? Just the standard LED menu on the HDS site?

    The update is...
We have all the parts for both the brass and bronze runs now. We are going to build the brass first, then the bronze. Still waiting on titanium parts to be delivered by the machinist.
The bezels need to be sent out for engraving, which will take 3-4 weeks, but while those are out, the rest of the light will get built.
There will be 14 extra brass lights. A total of 42 will be sold and 28 were sold in the presale. No bronze are left as all were sold in the presale.
Yes, there are special emitters that can be chosen with the brass. Besides the current lineup, the Nichia 219B 3500, 4000, and 4500.
