Use electronic contact cleaner

From an old aerosol can of it I find:
CRC industeries
800-521-3168 Tech info
800-272-4620 Cust service

Quick drying , no residue
cleaning solven that removes oil grease, dirt and solder flux
helps prevent contact failure or malfunction by rinsing away contaminates

harmless to most plastics and paper tapes?

Authorized by USDA for use in federally inspected meat and poultry plants!!!!

Now you can clean out your electronic flashlight heads and not worry about shorting anything out as this is made to clean circut boards!!

It literally blows all of the gunk and grease off of my thinly threaded Arc 4 and leaves them clean and ready to be relubed. No more q-tips needed to clean your lights!

I am not selling this nor do I have any ties with the maker, Heck I don't even know how to get anymore of it... but if you can find a similar product, it would be well worth it.

It also does not APPEAR to harm optics either!

I am sure it will but you would run the risk of literally melting any plastic or rubber... This stuff is safe for all of that
