Yes I got this one from another cpfr 2 years ago I believe. Trits just came in from mixglo and installed with Loctite epoxy type glue (179f degree temp) so I can better replace at some point should I need to

It has arrived! I'm not sure exactly how to go about testing it as I've never owned a UV light before. $5 and $10 bills look cool, as this lights up the security thread embedded in the paper. I can see the light on the palm of my hand from setting 24 down to about setting 12, then I lose it. Recommendations are most welcome. Thanks.

I got mine for the first five on the list, but for #5 primarily and purchased dyes from Tracer Products for that purpose. In the next week I will be hunting down a power steering leak that I have had for the last year. Parts are expensive and I am not sure if the leak is coming from the reservoir or one or both of the hose connections. I will take pictures when I investigate.

Thanks very much. That is an excellent resource. I think this will be more useful than I had anticipated.

With the HDS light, the Woods lens is one of the features that makes it very unique. The Woods lens filters out the purple/blue visible light so that it is easier to see the florescent item you seek. Plus, the HDS light has the 365nm LED which is a sought after UV wavelength and not found in many of the less expensive Chinese $25 lights. I am very surprised that these HDS lights have not sold out yet.

That's the trouble with HDS anf Malkoff, I'm always one for buying two if the first one hits the spot. But it seems to be a bit pointless with these, unless you're collecting.

I have 4 budgies and I illuminated them carefully (!) with my UV HDS at night. also they are shining if they have specific colors. but I did not do it with high density, since I would have been sure not not to harm their little eyes. Therefore no additional tries to take pictures of them with UV light....

There are a lot animals with fluorescing colors. But it is always impressing how well specific animals can be found with UV light.

    yep, it created another sale.

I was was worried about the UV emitters being gone soon, or maybe during the titanium sale on Monday, so I snagged my last HDS for a long while. (Famous last words). I occasionally use UV epoxy for a few things so this will be the bomb for that purpose, or to use next time I travel to the Southwest, or just general UV use, maybe even photo use.

When they are gone, they will be gone and you will not find another one like it. That is why I got mine when they first came out. Have not really used mine yet but I am sure I will and it will be awesome.

It's that time of year here again when I break out the UV for lots of use.
Two nights ago one of those little lobsters got me on the bicep while I was sleeping. Felt something crawling on my arm at 0400, brushed it off only to realize what it was. Not a day after I sprayed the house and yard. Been here 20 years and that is the first time I've been stung.
It didn't get away with it though. Easy to find with the UV and it met the business end of a slipper.

Strange feeling sting. Felt like electricity running through my bicep for about a day. Not really all that bad but then if you compare it to broken bones sticking out of your flesh, not much is that bad.

If I recall, there are only about 8 UV left.

So is it a myth about scorpion stings killing you, or just different types of scorpion?
Or are you just a very tough guy?

Only dangerous to small children. Here the Tree Bark is the smallest and most venomous... and most common. Luckily, those are also the ones that fluoresce bright green under UV.

Here is one I found this morning. Been dead for a bit.

Are the uv lights rotary only or is it like any ordinary order?

If not rotary only, who chose rotary or clicky?

Thanks....wondering what the best route to go would be.
My initial thought is clicky as uv will probably not work too well on lower modes.

    Thoughts?

My UV HDS is a rotary. I also did not changed the factory settings on this particular HDS. Since I handle UV light different thna normal whit light. I use it for illuminating minerals, or animals, ... I like it to use the necessary amount of UV light. For this particular usecase I did not found a good setting for a usable low value and high value. Therefore it is all Rotary. I can than select the UV light amount I need to the particular usecase.
