    Wink2 HL-EL510 Revival LED mod

I have an old Cateye HL-EL510, and I'm interested in upgrading the LED. from what I read on a variety of older forums, this flashlight has a Luxeon III which can be modded to a Seoul SSC P4 U-bin LED very easily as they are almost exactly the same size and shape. All the references that I was able to find regarding this are around 10 years old, I'm sure there have been significant advances in technology, and wondering if the P4 has been upgraded with the same form factor, so it remains an easy swap.

The Cateye HL-EL530, Petzl Myo XP, Tikka XP and a few other variations of these models also had the same Luxeon III which people changed to the SSC P4. Again haven't been able to find any "modern" data on the forums.

    First post! Pile on!

This light isn't very interesting to upgrade.

Did you take a look at the HL-EL300? This would be worth an upgrade

Sorry to disappoint! It's the light that I have and the project that I'm interested in. I'm sure there are lots of other more interesting projects and better lights out there! Angerdan do you know anything about the compatibility of the Luxeon III and its modern replacements?

Sorry to disappoint you, i'm not the best source for LED chip compatibility.
