Question about the Nitecore NCP40 - there's one thing I can't tell from the pictures... It seems like that holster is designed for molle systems, and I just want to put it on a belt. I don't trust velcro, so I'm wondering... Can that holster be slid onto a belt so that it would be secure even if all of the velcro failed? Or does it rely on velcro even to keep it on a belt?

Thanks...

Yes, the belt connection is velcro, but keep in mind that any velcro certified for use in a molle system is going to be extremely strong. To get an accidental release from a belt the belt would have to be very wide so that the attachment area for the velcro would be smaller, then there would have be up upwards and outwards pressure on the holster to make the velcro separate. Go to the nitecorestore.com site and look at the last picture where it shows the holster mounted on a belt. And remember, to be certified as military standard it has to have passed the tests that deal with your concerns.
