I have a copper Maratac AAA copper flashlight that I purchased new a few years ago. It is a twisty and has the low-medium-high mode sequence which I prefer over the new Maratacs which have medium-low-high mode sequence.
Anyway, I like it a lot except for the cool white tint and would like to have the emitter swapped for a Nichia 219B 4500K 90CRI if possible. The first order of business would be to remove the head internals which are threaded and appear to have a grayish adhesive on the threads. The way it is now it won't budge.

One of the methods I've heard that works to loosen the adhesive is to put the head in a plastic zip-lock bag, remove the air out of the bag as much as possible, then put it in boiling water for around 20 minutes. Remove it and let it cool slightly, then remove the threaded driver assembly. If I do that would it ruin the electronics in the driver? Or are they typically able to withstand that temperature (around 212 degrees Fahrenheit)?
