I'm sorely tempted to pick up an E series OR head in Nichia flavour.
I can't imagine I'll ever see a V4 on the WTS so I'll have to wait for the next run of V5s.
Does anyone know how the tint of the V5 nichias compares with the V4? I have two V4 Nichia drop ins which are my gold standard for tint.
If the V5 ones are too unpink I'll have to think again.
So if anyone has experienced both, please let me know.
Thank you so much.
P

Thank you, those are excellent pics.
If anyone else wishes to play I'm looking to compare V4 Nichia to V5 Nichia.
Thanks,
P

The big difference between 4 and 5 is 4's tend to have 219b and 5's tend to have 219c. In theory C's have had less time to develop but we also had better bin selection getting these C's. To me it looks like warm sunshine. Bright white with warm corona.

Little late but wanted to share.

Left, V5 219b e2e and right V5 219c boss
iphone pic with auto adjust

Boss head was brighter as I didn't program the lights to have same brightness level.

Had I to guess I would have guessed the wrong way round. Are you sure you didn't reverse the photo?
Thank you Ken, that's so helpful.

It is a deceiving picture in a sense that the wall isnt white.

If I get another chance, I'll take another pic. Maybe this time I'll reprogram the lights to have the same output levels also.

Was cleaning out my stash and happened to have both lights out at the same time :)

Let's try this again :)

So you know where I'm coming from:

Left is Nichia 219b (OR V5 triple E2e) - Middle is Nichia 219c (OR e series Boss V5) - Right is XPL HI (V5 Boss)

It was tough holding all three lights with my left hand and taking a pic with my giant phone on the right hand :)

All were on mode 17

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much Ken, for the great comparaison.
I may have to rethink my bias towards rhe 219b.
I really appreciate that.
P

You're welcome. Hope you find what you're looking for.

All in honesty, all three lights individually are pleasant to the eye. No glaring coldness or angry blue tints. It feels as though all three lights have high CRI values (can't confirm scientifically). With all three lights on at the same time, the phone does it's own magic so the representation may not be accurate.
