I'll make this really simple. Does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes a 120v AC power inverter that runs from 18 volts? Not some gimmicky power tool thing but a standard plug in inverter? No use of 18v to 12v step down converter allowed.

Victron Phoenix units come close.

The 12v unit ranges 9.2 - 17.3
The 24v unit ranges 18.4 - 34.0

Wow Silverfox, that looks like exactly what the OP asked for.

Older thread but I'm in a similar position trying to have a straight forward solution of taking advantage of 18v power tool battery lines and utilizing an inverter for off-grid 120V portable power. Only have come across a couple options so far.
- Dewalt DCB1800: uses 4 of their batteries for 1800 vac... also works as a charger when plugged in. Floats anywhere from $300-$500
- YueQing Reliable Electric 18vdc to 120vac inverter. seen from 1 to 3 kw with price tags floating from $100 (possibly questionable websites) to $300 (ebay/amazon)

I've been reluctant to drop a couple hundred on the straight inverter when an extra hundred with patience could get me a turn key solution. Also recognize this may not work for some battery options which have internal electronics to prevent misuse. Wonder if anyone has tried out a solution.

I have seen a cheap Hart (Walmart tool) 20V inverter, it should run fine off 18v but may not be powerful enough since you didn't list your power requirements.
