Plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead... which should be in a few weeks at the rate I'm going.
The biggest pain was the switch box in the ash tray and replacing all the incan bulbs with LED.

Really would love to 80 of these XP-G3 5000k in the light bar... but it is not going to happen.

White wall hunters will not like the beam. It seems the yellow phosphor that surrounds the chip is picked up a bit when you shine the light on a white wall. Hogo's beam shot is quite accurate. A very white hotspot, with a yellowish corona with spill that is cooler than the hot spot. Things that will make a wall hunter cringe. Yikes!

Good news!!! Real users who actually USE their lights (folks like me) will LOVE this light!! Outdoors the beam is pure white, all those things seen on the wall aren't there when light is shined ast a distance. The beam is pure white, no blue no green, no yellow, just 5000K white bliss.
    Glad you are happy!
fwiw, the following comparison is more about the CRI, than the tint (I added the arrows to your excellent photos)

Now I see where you are coming from. I'm really getting the hang of this. Thank you.

I see pink. LOL! Crossing the beams can make any good light look like crap... and I would say yellow. The real test is to use the light on its own, and then tell me what you see. Also, what you see in person vs. a photo. White balance always goes out the window in pictures.

That comparison that Jon posted is a very good. Notice how the 325 xpg 3 hotspot is concentrated where as the 325 xpl is not. I think the guys hit a winner on this one....
NOW letís see how that does against 700 lumens in a similar sized light. I ll put money on the 325 as the winning horse. Any takers???

Can I use laser emitters or or diodes with aspherical lenses that give a square beam in the shape of a diode? Is always it is necessary to clarify that the reflector is against the reflector (not only physical size) otherwise you can lose money

    The photos are really awesome!

I m not intending to over steer the thread but 700 lumens with a reflector right at the same size and dimension of the HDS current reflector and one which is 18mm diameter by approximately 20mm deep led is xpl I believe

Good point the color of the Frisbee is accurate on the nichia beam! My dog loves that Frisbee.

Itís what I carry daily. Used the 5k throw to help find the back of the wifeís earrings, I think the tint made it harder to find.

Now Iím thinking the 4500 gave me pink eye. Picked up my Q8 , which Iíve always thought was too warm, & Iím seeing green. Weird.

It will mess with your mind. I'm similarly confused. My strategy is to buy all of the high CRI offerings and see what makes the most sense of any given scene.

This is not helping my budget. I really want one. Between a holster for my HDS and a new gun, Iíve spent any disposable income for the next several months at least.

I'd have more money for my flashlight hobby if I would stop buying Metallica concert tickets. The North American leg of the World Wired Tour is bleeding me dry.

Won't stop me from getting another HDS soon, though.

Yesterday I was @customs and got my 325 Lumens XP-G3 Rotary. Seems to be an interesting light. Have not tested in deep but in compare to the 325 Lumens XP-L Version it has more throw. Need to compare it with the 250 Lumens XP-G2..
The beam itself is very interesting. The inner area around the LED is a little yellow'ish and the outer one a little blue'ish. I do not see any green at all. The inner area looks like the 325 Lumens XP-L 4000K from the color. At all I think I like my new HDS.

    @Hogo
I guess you are the man doing the packing and shipping!? I sent Henry 500 Stickers and I was hoping on the blister packing or the card inside there is such a sticker. Did Henry give you the stickers?
This time customs was easy, the customs officer was expecting 20-30Ä when I told him it is a flashlight. When I gave him the PP invoice he was shocked. He was not really interested in the light at all, only the invoice and the explanation of the merge of two orders (and the shipping refung for one order). But it depends on the customs officer. Some officers "love" checking the CE stuff...

Well all of you have made me cave and order a new light. I just have to try this one out. Too tempting.... Now after all the time spent researching I get to wait even longer to have it built. If I had not resisted for so long I would already have it. Oh well, I am use to waiting for quality things especially living Ca and liking things that throw lead...

Now I need a holster.... I think there is thread about that someplace...

My brain wants the 325 lumens out of the long throw on the 4500. But itís a matter of what each led makes of the 1 amp isnít it?

Very excited as I got my tracking # for my longer throw.... I have not been this excited about a light in a while. Another cool thing is was shipped a full week and 1/2 before Henry said it would.

Other people just don't understand why I would be excited about a light, but I knew you guys would. They would also go off if they knew the price.Ö

    Good times...

50 bucks. Thatís what I tell everyone who asks me how much I paid for a flashlight and I get asked this a lot. Some people are just nosy. 😄
