$50 for a flashlight? You should have a CAT scan. I have a flashlight on my phone!

Beam shots? This thread needs more photos.

I have employees who earn a modest hourly wage and yet own $1000 smart phones. Apropos to Tejasandre's post above.

The smooth reflector seems ever so lightly "frosted" looking producing a beam with good throw, but very much useable flood. As a matter of fact, the beam for me has a perfect flood/throw combo almost Zebralight like but with a tad more punch. Do not sleep oon this offering its awesome.
Just got my 5k XP-G3 rotary, and totally agree.. Great light, exceeds expectations.
Had a chance to walk around and compare it with my 5k 3 o'clock..

The hotspot on the XP-G3 is slightly bigger and more diffused, and is a little brighter on max as others have noted.

Color rendition is better than expected but a little more pastel than the HiCRI lights. I actually prefer it over the 3 o'clock 5k.

Here is a pic of three lights in hand on the ceiling @ low level 10 which I use them at 80% of the time.. My lights are shrouded so only the hotspot shows, no corona. (Camera shows a yellowish tint on the XP-G3 that my eyes don't pick up, just white).

Conclusion: If you are looking for a nice neutral tint light with a little extra punch you will not be disappointed with the NLT XP-G3.

I searched but couldn't find throw numbers for the new HDS 325 XPG3. Are they available?

I think I'd prefer the emitter in the 250 cranked up to 325

Can you elaborate on the shroud? Another photo that shows it off? Thanks!

To my knowledge that has not been officially tested. Or at least the numbers have not appeared on the forum. Post #30 on this thread has data for some other models.

Doubled up Novatac caps, Streamlight 1L/2L clip. Super comfortable in hand.

You could get her one. I hear they’re on the secondary market already.

I think she's figuring out why I tint my older xp-g/2's with a Lee #162 pale amber filter, brings them down to 46-4800k. -Makes for more productive closet searches..

Here's the link for Novatac/HDS caps: I find the little tailcap falls off (designed for raised buttons) so I slipped it under the front cap, works great.. Gives it a bulbous bow so I always know which end is up.

Any hint on when HDS plan to switch from Cree XP-G2 to XP-G3 emitters as standard (without going for a custom model)?

Ummm... never... considering the limited number we could get of the XP-G3 with this bin code it is far more likely we will run out of XP-G3 emitters long before running out of XP-G2.

Bummer, this XP-G3 is really growing on me.. The color rendition is quite good for a non-HiCRI light and I really like the neutral tint. The slight extra throw is also a nice bonus. thanks

I just ordered one of these “long throw” lights. I’m mostly a high CRI fan now, so hopefully I’m not disappointed.

It seems that the question of CRI sub-divides the HDS crowd into smaller camps. I'm hoping for a nice, honest, tint snob review of the XPG3. Your perspective will be very helpful.

Check my reply. earlier in this thread, pure white light. Not pretty on a white wall.

I don't get white wall hunters🤔 I mean if your going to be using your light on a white board or something like that I gues it matters what the beam looks like on a white background. But if your not why is it done? Who cares? Use them people use them.
If i had one day left to live i would want to be at my workplace.Because every day is like a frickin eternity.

I take your point, but people hunt white walls for same reason they buy titanium rotaries. At some point, the function of a tool is so well executed that it crosses a line and becomes art. I don't consider myself white wall hunter, but I certainly appreciate quality.
