Default Need a New AAA EDC Light!

    Hey everyone!

I have been carrying a Streamlight Protac 2AAA every day for the past couple of years. It has seen its fair share of action, and Iím ready for a new AAA light!

    Here are my needs:
    -1 or 2 AAA
    -Pocket clip
    -At least 100 Lumens
-Rechargeable batteries are ok, but it needs to be able to run on primaries as a backup
-Durable to last another couple of years
    -Decent warranty

I was thinking of just getting another Protac 2AAA, but I thought I might try something different. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Surefire Titan Plus

300 lumens on max setting, I think itís 15/75/300 canít remember honestly.
    1.1k Candela.

Max Vision beam ( wide flood about 50m distance )

    AAA disposal or Rechargeable

    Backed Surefireís Lifetime Guarantee.

Love it so small and so powerful, you can see how it looks next to my keybar and Surefire EDCL1T.

Another good choice would be the Lumintop Tool AAA. Single AAA, with the Cree emitter 110 lumens, with the Nichia emitter 80 lumens. There really isn't much practical difference as far as output goes, and to my mind the high CRI of the Nichia emitter is more than worth the difference in output. Basic version is a tail clicky, but one can also get a magnetic tailcap, which turns the light into a twisty.
The Tool AAA varies from almost all other lights in that its mode sequence is M-L-H. Many people don't like that and prefer the more normal L-M-H sequence. I actually like it, as I am most likely to use the medium output anyway.
Remember, Two is One, and One is None!.

I second the nichia tool. I edc a tool ti with the nichia 219bt and totally recommend it. Pluses over the regular one are titanium construction and ability to tailsatnd while retaining the tail switch. Otherwise its the same as a what timothy said. I love medium first becuase for eDc (ie during the actual day) I like to have a usable mode immediately on the first click without going through a low thats too loolw or high I dont usually even need. 18 high cri beautiful lumens from the nichia hit the spot 90% of the time for its prurpose.

    15 / 75 / 300 lumens at roughly 15 meters distance.

Edit last one at 30 meters on 300 lumens max setting.
This is only my keychain light, my primary is my Surefire EDCL1T 500 lumens 12.5k candela... but the Titan Plus is surely enough light for a tiny EDC pocket light, the bezel twist activation can be easily done one handed. Itís a very basic and fool proof light no confusing modes or switches.

The aaa light that has me interested is the Preon. I can be set LMH or HML. It actually has six ways to set it up. So it can work for any preference.
    Looks interesting.

One of my EDC's is a Lumintop Tool AAA. I have had it for several years. Flawless performance, rear clicky on/off/ mode switch, runs on one AAA battery.
