Why was the MT06 discontinued?

I have one in my shirt pocket right now. I like it.

I would recommend it to others, if it was still available.

Presumably because more people were buying the MT06MD and the two products were similar enough to confuse buyers.

They're quite different lights and should have been named to indicate so. I also have the MT06MD.

No.

The MT06 is two modes with a small LED die and is quite throwy for a small light.

The MT06MD is high CRI, three output levels, more floods than throwy and warmer CCT.

Very different lights, other than outside appearance. The specs for both are still on the Nitecore Store website.
