Solid, strong and heavy. The material seems thicker than Kel-Lite / much thicker than Maglite.
As a 1-D cell light, simply insert a 3AA serial battery holder to make it a 3-cell light.

True Grit was a Kel-Lite knock off who used some LA Screw ideas for modular barrels.
Right rare these days.

They were forced to stop producing flashlights...not by LA Screw or Kel-Lite.. but by the Duke who had trademarked the name.

Good score.

iirc the one i saw had metal reflector and bakelite retainer.
i dont know if the retainer could take a ROP hi.
glass window mandatory.
on a rare bird like this i would be very careful.
