If a flashlight has short circuit and over discharge protection, like all modern zebralights, and uses only one cell, there is no need for protected batteries, correct?
In that case, would protected batteries give a shorter runtime or warmer operating temperature because of the Internal resistance of the PCB?
Part of why I ask is because a protected cell shows up on the zebralight webpage for my headlamp =p
