OK, I've glanced over all the hundreds of posts concerning the Mag 2C modifications that folks have done, however I was unable to find the answer to my question. Using the Mag 2C host, what are the modifications that can be done to produce the brightest torch? I currenty run the KPR112 + 3x123 cell + UCL combination. What else can be done that would yield no less than 20-minutes runtime and have the brightest output?

The Carley CL1499 rated at 386 lumens (30.7) It was mentioned on the latest GB post and I've got several on order to try out. It's rated at 7.2v 1.84a and has an estimated runtime of 29 minutes on 3x123. There's a few on order as part of the current WA / CA group buy. Would you like some as part of the payment for the E2E+ turnkey unit?

The CL1057 is a very strong bulb. It specs 240 lu at 6V but at maximum overdrive on 3x123, it should be making about 450-ish with about 350 out the front. I really like this 6.0V/2.0A bulb. You should easily get 30+ minutes of bright white on this one. I have not tried the CL1499 but it looks very promising spec-wise. I use the CL1057 as my personal bedside table torch along with the WA01183 on 4xCP1300 1/2sub-Cs. Of course, I'll be running the WA01111 on 6xCP1300 soon but that's another story. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

All these bulbs are going to be *way* brighter than any LED. We're talking hundreds of lumens here. I'm sure the more knowledgable folks will chime in, but I think the WA01183 will put out 500+ lumens. That's M6 territory. Even the "smaller" bulbs will break 250. That's just beastly /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If I recall correctly I am running a Carley 808 potted in a PR base w/ 4x123. It is BRIGHT. No idea on the Lumens though.

Yeah, the 808 is reasonably bright at just under 300 lumens but getting 4x123 in the 2C is not all that pleasant. The WA01183 is very bright but at 3.85A, you cannot run it on 123s. Not even on parallel strings. I've tried. I run it on 4x high current nicads and it is bright. However, it makes 480-ish bulb lumens which translate to only about 312 out the front. That still puts it in M4 HOLA territory. The best of these bulbs will be far brighter than a Lux 5W but the beam will not be anywhere as smooth. Without Acrylite, at least.

Ginseng documented WA01274 (7.2V, 2.77A): Mag2D on 6xAA nimh.

I don't know what 18650 Li-Ions are but I thought I'd throw that usage out there for you.

I'm thinking those batts work in a C configuration? I would like to know the answer to you question also.

I'm using
Bulb: General electric 788 (6v- 20W) bi-pin soldered in pr base I think equivalent WA is 01111 rated at 465 lumens
Powered by: 2 Li-ion cells from laptop battery type sony 18650. 1500mAh but I also have 1700mAhs.
I need better aluminium reflector for it but otherwise it is ok.
I have done about 6-8 cycles (20min runtime) and the bulb is ok.
