Just got one of these in W2. Running a protected Effest 800mah it shuts off when trying to double click straight to turbo from off. I can slowly ramp it up, but not double click. Just an FYI. Cool little light for sure. Canít wait for dark!

I had this same problem, I went with Sanyo UR14500P 800mAh and I can go straight to turbo no problems

If you can slowly ramp it up, but not double click, then you are not at the brightest mode. Top of ramp is only high. Double click is turbo. Sadly turbo cannot be reached at top of ramp. So get yourself a new battery to get full use out of your light.

Battery cannot support 2+ Amps... Using unprotected or IMR shows better results.

Vinh models Emisar D1 XPL (left) vs BLF GT Micro W2 (right) on a slightly misty night in Big Sky country 🤠. Micro in middle pic, D1 in top pic. Thoughts?

So after playing with this little pocket rocket, I can enthusiastically say that I absolutely love this light! Itís impressive how far this light throws! Love the W2 emitter. It seems like itís a nice mix of throw with useable spill. Thanks Vinh for the sweet deal on this awesome build!

I have the TX25Cvn with XPG2 and it's the most impressive thrower for a tiny light, that is until the micro_vn W2 came along!

Time to update the tx25cvn thread. Itís been 4 years. Are you going to have the ucl lens available still?

I'm very eager to see what the specs will be for the TX25Cvn W2

Based on the head size, it should be fairly close in throw to the Micro. They often use pretty good reflectors too.

I can still upgrade with UCL but the factory tinted works well with W2 6500K.

Will do a TX25Cvn VS Micro Soon

This is what it takes to set the Micro reflector to its perfect beam.

Do you glue them in place? Why are they on a scale? Looks tedious!!!

All W1, W2, and Black reflectors are tuned and glued.
My table is so crowded the scale is the last free spot LOL
Yes very tedious work and after looking at bright beams for a long time for beam tuning I think my vision is temporally (hope its temporally) impaired. I shine the beams on my white ceiling, 10 meter distance white wall and 60 feet garage at max brightness to tune each beam.

I can only imagine the eye-agony after tuning a TN42vn or BLF GTvn or MT35vn Ultra thrower with 2m+CD... wow.

It looks like you have to do a lot of eye-balling (literally) and shimming. You might have to start keeping a pair of dark sunglasses (or welding goggles haha!) at your work table.

I can relate to that, for better or worse. I was racking my brain as to why one would want to weigh a light when focusing a reflector.......

I wouldn't think you are at too much risk, since all of that "too close to the TV" stuff was mostly hog-wash. Sure it's a lot, but I think you'd be hard pressed to do actual damage looking directly into the beam even at a full 1000lm. Maybe sight migranes.....

Sunglasses dim things down too much that I cant see the petals and balance them. Thats why I have to tune these beam as close to turbo to see all the petals.

I kind of see what you mean. I just shined a couple of different lights against the ceiling while spinning them in a circle and looking at the corona, my medium dark sunglasses make it almost invisible. You've got this stuff dialed in, Vinh! No surprise there!

I'm still eager to see what these numbers look like. I'm sort of rooting for the TX25, perhaps because I like the cell format a little more.
