Any good flashlight/knife/gadget shops in vegas ?

I leave for a weeks holiday in vegas on the 25th, can anyone recommend any good stores (preferably near the strip) that sell quality flashlights or knives ?

Also would appreciate any general tips on places to go, things to do, nightlife etc etc...

I did spend a week at circus-circus around two years ago, managed to visit the grand canyon (amazing) and hoover dam plus spend way too mauch money in the many casinos /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You can, but there are a lot of casinos between the shops so you may be taking a big gamble /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyone know if Binions got the tax crap settled?

If they are open, you ought to (if you can afford it) eat at the Steakhouse on top. It was YUMMY in Nov. '01!

There is a joint off the strip called the Gunstore...

I think I have a card from it and will post the info if I find it when I get home!

For gadgets it's tough to beat the new Fry's store that opened up a few months ago. It's about a mile south of Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Blvd ("The Strip") across from an outlet mall. They've got a big flashlight section with a lot of brands. My girlfriend bought an "atomic" (radio controlled) travel alarm for $10! And you can get a 12 pack of soda while you're there. (If you need an oscilloscope at 3AM in Silicon Valley, Fry's is where you go. Glad to see it's spreading East.)

UPDATED: Forgot to mention my personal favorite shows: Blue Man Group at the Luxor and "O" at Bellagio. YMMV.
