Is There a Simple Way to Power and Control LEDs?

I am trying to build something that needs to control and power LEDs on and off at a set time during the day. The ability to alter the brightness would be even better. Where do I start? Is there a logic board or module I can buy that would have that capability?

I would prefer not to start from scratch as I intend to make more than one. It would be powered by two AAA batteries or perhaps a USB-C rechargeable internal battery. Any help would be appreciated!

I would think you could do it with an Arduino, Raspberri Pi, BeagleBone, or some similar standard micro board and an add-on or two. Go poke around Adafruit, SeedStudio, or wherever else you might shop for one.

Running off AAA cells, you must be talking about little indicators, not any kind of illumination, right?
