The Tiny-Illuminator $15.00 + 1.30 shipping w/tracking (USA)

Comes with three sets of batteries and key ring attachment!

I have five units, two black, three pewter.

The head on this flashlight is actually the ring from a D cell Maglite bulb socket. 13.4mm mineral glass protects the LED from the outside world; double o-rings too.

5cell1.jpg

Slightly shorter than a Mag Solitaire, but with clickie tail cap switch for easy one hand operation.

5cell5.jpg

Power is supplied by 4 L1154 cells (removed from Key-Mates). You can fit five batteries in these, but it makes the tail cap switch hard to press and really not enough brighter to matter.

The LED is an 8mm four die LED. This 8mm four die LED is constructed similar to the 5 watt Luxeon, but using four smaller LED dies like found in 5mm LEDs.

5cell3.jpg

The LED is mounted on a simple circuit card; top negative contact, bottom positive contact, drops in the battery tube, then batteries. It can be easily swapped for another similar setup with colored 8mm LEDs. An o-ring on the LED keeps it centered in the flashlight.

Tiny Illuminator - $16.30 shipped with tracking (USA)

Very nice /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

This is the first I've heard about these four die LED's, how do they compare with standard nichia LED's ?

A lot more light than regular 5mm. The picture of the beam next to the wall above was taken with a 60 watt ceiling light on between the camera and flashlight; it's a big area it lights up too, not as tight a beam angle. It's no Luxeon, but enough light to be useful.

I can ship Global Priority for $5.00; air mail might be cheaper ~$3.60.

Just the two lonely black ones left .....

I'd like one of those if anybody backs out.

(I've got that 8mm LED, but no flashlight yet to use it in). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

p.s.-those 1154 cells are equivalent to the type # 389 aren't they?

I got my TI today, all I can say is WOW! This thing is great! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thinner than an Arc AA, just a *touch* longer, and check this out:

Arc AA on left, Tiny Illuminator on right.

It's even got a "clickie" switch too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Very nice work Kevin! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

When can I buy some more?

Re: Tiny Illuminator - $15.00

shudder... how did I ever miss this? Would have made a perfect addition to my Turbo nano mate, and I'm sure I could have found some 1/3 N cells to substitute for the button cells.
