Led Lenser x21 switch broke!

G'day to all from Australia .!!
Impressive forum, I must say.
Anywho...
I have the first generation of led Lenser x21 and the clicky was '****y' since day 1.
Should of followed it up, but ... Too lazy.!
So eventually it failed. Spares unavailable . So my Q.
Would I be able to mod a 12v rocker or on off button switch, without upsetting the gods of led law i.e.voltage,amps,loading etc etc.?
Cost me an absolute bomb, back in the day, so a bit peeved. Led Lenser suggested I purchase new model..ummm.......yeah nah.
No parts in Aus, so that's why I have chosen to (butcher !) mod a switch. Otherwise it'll collect dust once again.
Keen to hear from anyone on suggestions too

Generally, I'd say if the switch is rated for at least the voltage/ amperage that you require, you're good to go. Mod the heck out of that thing!
