New member question

Hi everyone
I recently bought a streamlight Strion hpl rechargeable light. I have tried to search to no avail. When the high power setting drains the battery, is there a ways to get the medium or low power setting to light up? I tried the three tap on the tail so streamlight recommended but still did not have any luck. Thank you for you collective help!

Ten tap means half press 9 times and click #10. Should go to high only then.
Repeat and it should start on low, have medium next and then high.

Took me a few tries with my first Streamlight but I got the hang of it.

Word of caution, when ten tapping, aiming it a a dull surface like a carpet reults in a lot less seeing spots than aiming it at a shiney floor.

If you like it starting on high, just half press the button to reduce the output. Half press means pressing until it lights up but not click. Full press is pressing until it clicks.
