Is there a Prometheus rep who could please answer this?

The website says Alpha lights use 18650 batteries

Can they use rechargeable 1AA NiMH batteries, and if they can't, when if ever will your company be doing a 1AA version?

Not a Prometheus representative, although glad to try to answer your questions ....

Most likely @GotLumens will be by shortly to respond, but if you are referring to the Icarus driver (used in the Alpha line of flashlights) , it is a 2.8V-4.2V / 3.4A (max) converter, designed to run on a single IMR18650 (or equivalent) as you've noted.

Prometheus is also the new manufacturer of Foursevens, which has produced a number of AA-powered flashlights.

Hi,
No the Alpha lights can not use AA sized cells of any type.
The Alpha's ICARUS driver can draw up to 3.4 Amps of power. A single "AA" NiMh cell is
pressed
hard to deliver ~1A.
The Alpha shorty tube Cell type must be 18350 IMR High Discharge type
as Archimedes has posted.
Thank You

FourSevens new Quark MKIII QK2A is coming.
It will also function using previous Foursevens legacy single AA cell battery tubes and switches.

Not sure if feasible, but I'd love to see a single AA flashlight built on the lines of the Prometheus Alpha Ready Made with MCE LED and Boom Reflector!

Basically a slimmed down Ready Made Alpha....?
