Surefire KX4 - rebuild options?

Afternoon everybody,

Just curious, has anybody around here rebuilt any of the old Surefire KX4 led upgrade heads? I've got a 6P LED with one, and the LED is awfully tired, when it's off, the center of the LED module looks darker than normal, almost burnt?

It still works, but the output is terrible, I'd love to know if there is the option to upgrade it with a warm-white LED that has some better brightness levels. . .

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the KX4 did not have great heat-sinking ... so, heat damaged emitters are not uncommon.

While likely possible to "mod" , I suggest simply getting a Z44-type bezel and your P60 dropin of choice (Malkoff would be my recommendation) , then ... done and done

Gotcha, sounds good to me! I thought about picking up a Z44 and doing just that, might be a lot easier in the long run, and less hassle too!

Thanks!! lovecpf
