Convoy S2+

I have a few of the S2+'s with the 2 modes. I ordered a couple of 7135X6 drivers with the Biscotti firmware. Can I just swap out the drivers or do I need to do anything else?

Only 2.28 amps? What emitter are you running?

The 6x7135 version isn't a bad choice for the S2+. Yes, it's lower amps and output, but the 8x7135 will get too hot after a few minutes. So will the 6x7135 version, but it will take quite a bit longer. And the 6x version is slightly more efficient than the 8x version, even when run at the same output.

However, I'm 8x7135 all the way. I don't use max for a long time, so getting high output is nice to have. I prefer the BLF A6, which is almost the same light, but uses a FET driver for about 50% more output. Sucks for run-time, though.
