What are your \"Brightest\" flashlights.

What are the Brightest flashlights that you own. They can be either LED or incadescant or both.

At the moment my brightest incadescant is the 10 million cp search eye lantern. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

My brightest Led flashlight is a 3 Watt Blaster with optics.

the brightest light i own is either a Brinkmann 750,000 candlepower spotlight or a Vector 1,000,000 candlepower spotlight.. i actually can't tell which one is brighter..

my brightest battery operated flashlight is my Elektrolumens FT3C, which seems to hover @ about 100 lumens..

Electrolumens FT-3C and 3D Mag mod running a TWAK direct driven both pretty close, although the mag is probably brighter and does throw farther although the FT-3C beam is more useful for most purposes.

Re: What are your \"Brightest\" flashlights.

My brightest light is my trusty old Brinkmann 1 million CP 12-volt spotlight that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket in a car. The brightest self-contained battery powered flashlight is my MagLite 2D modded with (2) 3 to D adaptors running 6 NiMH AA's powering a Mag 4 cell xenon bulb. My brightest LED is either my EverLED in a Mag 3C or my 20 LED bulb conversion for my Mag 4D. Everled Mag has brighter hotspot, but 20 LED Mag has much wider beam. Hard to tell which puts out more light. I'd gamble the 20 LED is a little bit brighter.

Coleman1mcp spotlight. This one is aluminum with a faceted reflector and thus puts out a rather wide beam. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon6.gif
Brightest LED light Dorcy AAA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
Second brightest incan: Rayovac 2D now, used to be a PT blast. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif
As you can see, I have a sad collection.

Re: What are your \"Brightest\" flashlights.

Personally I don't see why people consider "spotlights" to be "flashlights"????? I thought that was just an ameteur thing cause Im always getting people, my dad for one, competing with my flashlights by just going out and buying some big, clumsy spotlight that really can't be carried on your person. i mean where does that put us true flasholics if all someone has do is go out and buy some 2 million candlepower "flashlight" for $10-$20 and stomp all over our Surefire L4's, PT Surges, or Streamlight Ultrastingers....... to me a flashlight is something you can put in your pocket or at least wear on a holster. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

with that said, my brightest flashlights are my PT Surge(sold), Lambda Megalite HD, FT-3C, and my 2 slightly modded Value Bright lanterns. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My Tigerlight. The Mag 2C mod also comes close.

I don't think you can really wear a 6D Mag in a holster, but it's certainly a flashlight. So, I'd count spotlights.

My brightest two lights are a PT Surge and a Streamlight TL3. I haven't done a side by side brightness comparison, but they're both in the same ballpark.

I might get a Tigerlight or a spotlight one of these days.

Dragon, I loved your post. That could be my favorite one yet. It had me laughing, picturing a non-flashaholic doing this. It is true, I have a cheap $15 relatively smaller rechargeable spotlight from WalMart that puts all my other lights combined brightness to shame. As it should, because it's like taking your automobile headlight on high beam and wrapping it in a plastic housing with a handle on it. Boy is it bright though. It will light up the top of a tree at night as if it were daylight. In fact, I actually tested this thing while driving down a backroad in Northern Canada. I turned the headlights off and could easily drive at normal speeds while pointing this cheap light straight ahead out the window. This is why I never considered buying a medium to large sized (C or larger size), more expensive, high quality flashlight. This cheap thing works great. Any need for a light brighter than my SL 3AA Luxeon TL, and I'll just grab the cheap spotlight, as long as it keeps working. I wouldn't have a need for anything in between. I don't think this thing is any heavier than one of those giant MagLights, but I'll guarantee it's 10x brighter. I agree, I don't consider it a flashlight, but none-the-less it is very useful.

I don't have any more incandescents, so it would have to be my 5D mag modded with a 5W LS+Fraen, followed by my Blaster II.

Well, you can put a 6D Mag in a ring. Sort of a holster. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Brightest I have is a Makita 12V tool light. Xenon bulb, glass metalized reflector, very bright.

Yes, I own some big spotlights, up to 3 Million CP by Vector, but if you go by just the "smaller" ones....then:

LED--SureFire L4
Incandescent--TL-3, followed by my Surge, then too many to list..........

the brightest.....SF M6 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
brightest LED.....SF L4

in the mean time, I am still interested in modding my mag 2D into HID....very tempting /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin07.gif

oh no, don't get me wrong, "they" can be very useful. i have a dorcy(non-cordless) 200,000cp one in my truck that cost me all but $10 plus the extra $4 to switch in a 100 watt bulb, i use it occasionally.

sorry guys, guess i should have thought about the Gaglight 6D when i made the holster comment. i would imagine that a 4D is about absolute max(although it would look funny) for someone to holster. but WE all know that there are better and smaller "flashlights". forgot about the Tigerlight, sorry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

it's funny, im sitting here laughing to myself thinking about my upcoming backpacking trip and the friend that's going with me. he's one of the ones that i remember refering to some cheapie spotlight he had laying around as a "really bright flashlight". well anyways, i went over to his house the other day and saw that he had started packing for the trip and couldn't believe my eyes! first of all the sleeping bag!! it was at least 30 inches rolled and compressed as much as he could get it and it was still a good 10 inches thick, at least!! then there was the tent he was planning on bringing, it's an 9x7 Coleman that weighs almost 11 lbs and packs down to about the size of a medium sized elongated duffle bag!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif then to top it off, i swear this almost put me over the edge in laughter, he had some old coleman stove attached via a carabiner to the outside of his backpack that is about the size of 2 milk jugs put together!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/huh.gif anyways, my point is that if i told him to make sure he brings a "good flashlight" i could honestly see him attaching that spotlight to the back of his backpack. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif

Magcharger with WA01160 (a 500+lumen monster) & Vector 2MCP Spot. It's kind of fun letting people think the MC is a 3D and then watching their faces when you switch it on.
