Hi All,
Total newbie to LED flashlights and have a couple of questions.

Just received the County Comm 20 flashlights for $20 yesterday. They are great.

I'm going to modify these lights for a project I'm doing and need to know what the Vf voltage is on the LEDs.

Also, from a current perspective, are these LEDs being overdriven with 6V (2 serial 3V coin cells) and no resistor? I they are being over driven, by how much (approximately)?

What is the max current these LEDs can take?

I'm sure someone on this forum has played around with these lights and hope you have the answers.

This is a great site!

Thanks,
Pigseye

There IS resistance, you just can't see it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Button cells are a lousy ideal voltage source at high currents. As the current increases, the voltage decreases. So the cells have a fairly high "internal resistance."

There is a BIG difference between 3V from button cells and 3V from a benchtop power supply.

Thanks Harrkev, I didn't know that about button cells. I'll be careful.
