    Default xt-e prices???

    i just got an offer from 1 of my suppliers to buy XT-E whites for 4.8 cents each.
    have to buy large quantity but what is up with that price?
    are these obsolete or is something better coming?

    If that deal is too good to be true, it probably is. Fake Cree LEDs are actually a lot more common, so verify that it is genuine (counterfeit Nichia LEDs are rare, owing to the litigious nature of Nichia, even though their LEDs are a lot more popular among the flashaholics due to their extremely low forward voltage and decent tints), if they are genuine, ask the supplier what's the catch. ALWAYS ask so you don't get caught out by surprise.

    As for the XT-E LEDs, I think they are still made by Cree, commonly used in the remote phosphor lamps. Arrow usually sells them between $0.50 to $2.00 each, depending on how much you are planning on buying. (When you buy a lot of identical components, you get a discount.)
