Even as a novelty, I'd probably use it lego'd together with one of those aluminum body color options, unless.... copper/ti version.

I'm pretty sure you're not referring to this...

Absolutely getting the copper version. With that much copper, it should be able to handle turbo for quite some time.

Correct. My typo. I was hoping the XXXXXXXXXXXXXX topic title referred to the K75. Additionally, the big pics sometimes don't open for me, and I did not see the little "broken pic" icons.

That head on top of any of those anodized colors would be neat too. Only problem is that I'd have to buy two lights. I know there CPFers here that love knurling and copper but I've never been a big fan. It just gets too much patina too fast and then smells terrible when you handle it. A smooth head with only fins though... I could go for that!

Anyone notice that the body of the top light is machined while the body of the bottom light is conventionally knurled? I like the top one!

Astrolux MF01 Mini or Mateminco MT07, I've been waiting for these. What kind of magic are you thinking of doing to these?

I'm thinking Astrolux MF01 Mini due to all the color/finish options.

Haha!! I don't know, I'm a sucker for fully machined bodies. Especially if they're fancy lights that take on a V54 polish!

Is't the conventional knurling just another form of machining? They both seem to be machined.

Sure, but without traditional cutting. Old fashion, knurling like in the bottom picture (still the most common) is high pressure, cold formed with a knurling tool, on a lathe. It squeezes and shapes the metal into that pattern. The diamond patterns will all look very similar until you look at them under a loupe, at which point you'll see the inconsistent topography of the surface.

The knurling in the top picture is CNC cut and usually provides perfect diamonds, all perfectly symmetrical. A ball nose milling bit is usually used and the pattern is typically wider than cold formed knurling.

As the Mateminco MT07 it's sold with unknown XP-L's HI. Intl-outdoors has CREE XP-L HI V4 3C LED in stock. At 3 amps each it's pumping out 8,000 lumens.
