I have extracted 4 18650 from a laptop pack yesterday which was in the bin.

Now the charger ( Camelion ) refused to recognise them first, because voltage was 1.9v for all four.

Gave them a jump with another ( protected ) 18650 and then charged just fine to about 2600mah of capacity which is pretty good if you ask me for a about 4 year old pack.

How safe is it really having them sit at 1.9V ? I know it's quite low, but not to to low.
Same time extracted hard drive and had 32 days, so pack shouldn't have to many cycles done.

Probably okay, but check the spec sheet to be sure.

For example, the Samsung 30Q spec sheet says it's okay to recharge a cell even if it's as low as 1.0v, but you have to charge it slowly until it gets above 3.0v.

Your cell may be similar, or it may use different standards. If using it outside the specsheet recommendations, you have to decide if you want to accept the extra risk.
