So I just finished a run test with my M61LLL V3. 108 hours on 4 Duracell AAs. It was full power for probably 15 hours or so then dropped down to twice the output of my Malkoff AA on low sat there until the 40 hour mark and then stayed at the exact output to my eyes as my Malkoff AA on low till the 108 hour mark which is a very usable level by the way. Great runtime no question and im glad I did the test so now I know but, its kinda pointless isnt it? What I mean Is For emergencies I can run this dropin for over 100 hours off of 4AAs in a pretty long host or over 800 hours with the same supply of batteries with my Malkoff AA to begin with. lol yes you get more output for awhile with the M61LLL but for most of the time its really not any brighter then my AA. Think Im starting to learn some valuable lessons here😁 what your guys thoughts on this?

What body did you test this in that accommodates 4xAA?

Lol ya that was tricky. I used a lumens factory 6 volt light with two solarforce 18650 extensions. It really was just an exercise to see what results I would get. My plan was to get an MD4 with an oveready 18650 extension and a HI/LO ring to make an extremely long running emergency light. But as a say does that make sense? I mean when I can get basically the same results with a Malkoff single AA? Im still not sure.

Hey, but it's fun isn't it?
Practically, go with the MDC, but unless we experiment we never learn.
Also, I thought you said you pics were rubbish? Just seen your C2, very smart.

Just picked up an Oveready P60 acrylic host. Now I need to figure out what flavor of M61 to get. Maybe a M61WLL, I do wish malkof log made a warm LLL though.

I second this but, also wish there was a M61WLLL.

Mine is currently riding in an old school MDC123 shrouded/VME running on IMR16340. I use it every night around the house.

Maybe someone would do a group buy for the M61WLLL.

But in the meantime, The previous version of M61WLL was rated at 60lm while the current ones are 80lm. Im going to put up a listing in the wtb section to see if I can fish anything up.

The tints on these are similar to the current batch of M91BW right?

Do you want the older version due to its lower output?

Yes, I find lower output modules to be more useful in a host that would not have the high/low option.

Even 60lm is a bit much for me as a task light.

I pair mine with a Sofirn C01(Fully potted single mode driver/95+CRI/3200K Yuji mule) guys. It's about 6 Lumens and makes for a good pair. If I need sublumen I have other lights for that too.

Not as bad as I thought actually; I sorta like the contrasting grip area.

Lol. Yes it is😁 If I liked the run results my plan was a MD4 with 22.3 head with a oveready 18650 extended and a hi/lo ring. A much better setup imo.

A little early for me to do the math this morning; how many 18650's would go into that LEGO, TG ?

I was going to organize a M61W LLLL (four L's) group buy with some HCRI XP-G2s, I'll try to pull that together by the end of the week. Gene said minimum order of 20, I'll probably do 2 or 3 myself.
