I'm not sure what the current draw is on low.

Basically after 24hrs, it's still puts out half of where it started.

We are at 26hrs and still 11.6lm. it would be useful in a very dark place, would almost make for a nice nightlight

That's crazy, given what the new driver in the M91 is capable of.

Yes it is. I would imagine m91bn would be just as good if not better.

    We are closing in...28.5hrs@7.5lm
I want to say it's almost over, but who knows

    Can you imagine 2x18500 or 2x 18650
Even 2x 1200mah 18350's would get a bit more time and maintain the smaller md2 form...can you say MD1.5 with zerorez with unprotected cells

I think this module takes 5.5v to light up.

No, i haven't... didn't even think about it.
We are at 29.5hrs and down to 4.5-5lm(it's bouncing around)

    I'll go check real quick

Now you did it.... switched to high, i saw 90, 75, 68, dead. Test is now over, LOL

Not sure if it would have made it to 30hrs but that would have been it, i think...not to shabby

Sorry, but you know it had to be done. Could have gone on intermittently on HI for some time though, I'll bet. Proves that the head on LO gives more than useful light continuously for a "not too shabby" time.

Yeah, I don't like those long tests, which is why I normally don't run them.

30hrs on a pr of tiny 16340s is pretty darn good. After resting, the light powers back up. It will peak at 300lm on high but quickly drops. I tried a few times to see if it would quickly settle before shutting off. Last i saw was 1xx lm. Low is putting out 8lm. So it could possibly run for a bit longer on low

My M91BN is drawing 66Ma off of two 700 mah 16340ís on low. In order for it to run past say 8-10 hours it definitely draws much less as the voltage goes down.i always estimate by dividing MAH of battery divided by draw times .8

Itís to late tonight but tomorrow Iíll test her out and give my own real world results as I donít know how to use my new light meter yet that a stand up member lent me 😁

I knew i was forgetting something...need to check current draw. 2xli-ion= 8.4v loaded or 8.3v(rested cells)

    I'll report back.

Also, i think I know that fellow member... pretty sure he said the meter is yours (not just lending). If you ever decide to pass it on, just pay it forward, but I doubt you will want to do that as it's valuable tool
Follow my instructions and you will get your readings
As far as settings or datalogging... that's something you'll have to figure out, LOL

EDIT: My Neutral WCv6 draws 39ma@8.4v and 37ma@8.3v low mode

Thats exactly why I am buying it.

As as I get older, Iím finding that Iím apparently one of the few exceptions to that Archimedes Peak folks around here seem to always bring up. The longer Iím here/the more I post, I find I donít want dimmer light and better color rendering, I want brighter light and less worry if Iím seeing reds and greens correctly at night.

Apparently, Iím not alone; all five are now sold out.

I imagine there were many waiting for that head. I wanted to try it until someone pointed out that it had a narrow beam.

The reason why i can't do cool white is because I see too much blue and really drives my eyes nuts. If it was just white light with no blue, i could do it.

I'm slowly learning things too I've spent too much on trying different emitters and not enjoying what I already have and like. I'm getting there though. Trying new things can be fun but expensive. I'm pretty sure I know what i like now and I'm content with it.

Looking forward to your thoughts once you get to use the head

Wow thatís half what Iím getting with my 91BN at 8.3. That would explain the long runtime.

Not to interrupt another fine discussion of Malkoff runtimes...

I figured I might as well post here for better visibility. I have a very short survey to see which versions of the Nichia 219bv3 MDCs are most desired for Illumn/ Malkoff's next run of them. So far only 6 responses, I hope these are not all that are interested! There seems to be a lot of buzz on and off about these, hopefully everyone interested will notice by the time of the group-buy (which won't be for several more weeks).

Link to survey below, thanks all!. No need to carry out conversation here about the 219b as we have a thread for that....

Has anyone used the stream light 18650 with micro usb charging in a md2 ? Looking to pick one up from Cabelaís today if they are compatible

Edit: I picked up a set theyíre 2600mah/3.7v

Wish the capacity was a little higher

Iíll charge them up this evening sometime and see how they do/fit

I imagine they will fit just fine but that capacity is horrible. One thing I've noticed about those usb cells is the amp ratings are low on them, so not a good option for a hungry light IMO.

Many people just use those usb chargers that stick to ea side of the cell if that's what you're trying to get from them

    Yea the capacity is garbage

Will use them in the car for whatever light I decide to get for her.

The double 18650 plastic case is perfect for one battery and a short little micro usb cable to keep in the glove box . Keeping everything nice and neat.

While keeping one in the light .

Iíll make good use of them

The actual optic? You would have to call him. I want to say no as it's not really replaceable per se. I'm not exactly how those are made. What are you trying to accomplish?
Call him on Monday. You might even be able to email him and get an answer before then

I will email him , I wasnít sure if he ever offered this before or if he has or had some intentions to do so eventually .

Iíd like to use the optic on a 219b or possibly use one in a vme config or with dropins just to compare whether I prefer one over the other without having to buy the whole assembled head/module

I thought it may have been a replacement lens/optic that just drops in on top of the module underneath a gasket or oring , I didnít/donít know if it was built into the drop in itself , Iíve never owned or used one.

If haven't ever paid attention; I think they are epoxied in place or something of the sort. If Gene does that at his shop, he might be willing to sell you just the optic. I never bothered to mess around with one, so i don't have a clear answer.

I wonder if an elzetta optic would work, I know those are sold separately. sadly I let all that go otherwise i could check for you. I'm thinking they are a bit different though.

I want to say that a 219b will not work well with an optic, but I could be wrong. even neutral or warm will probably not go well with an optic from what Gene has told me in the past. that is why there is no neutral HOT/T modules. Gene said neutral came out orange and was very ugly

Didnít think about the elders optics

Yea I noticed the hot/,80t werenít in any of tint options , was curious to why

Wouldíve been nice to at least have the neutral capable and still look clean.

Iíll see if anyone here has one and can tell me how theyíre on the module

If not Iíll email him and see what he tells me.

Wicky, I wouldn't even consider it if you don't want to wreck your module.
I took an M60 apart once and the M61 is equally challenging....
