The
BLF A6 is often specc'ed as being "up to 1600 lumens" ... with the spring bypass and a high-current cell, or ~1400 lumens without the bypass and a lower-current cell. 14.3% more light won't be particularly noticeable, especially without an immediate A/B comparison, thus I'd think the spring bypass isn't especially worthwhile. Also, like most lights in its size class, the A6 will generate prodigious amounts of heat operating at max output for slight apparent differences to the eye and a noticable hit to runtime.
