I just got the TK16 Osram, and like it a lot so far. The directions are not so straightforward, but I've caught onto everything except the part about "loosening" to memorize a mode, as shown by the highlighted section in the pic below. The light memorizes the last mode used when clicking on or off, and also when toggling back and forth from turbo. (to low, med., or high only) Loosening while in a certain mode seems to do nothing as far as memorizing a mode.

Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe it's a misprint or a breakdown in translating from Chinese to English. Any help appreciated.

I believe that is meant to say to release the button when the desired brightness is reached.

It simply means "stop pressing the button when the cycle is at the desired level".

Thanks for the input, Mark. I kinda figured that out from trial & error, but I'd say it's a poor choice of words for a flashlight. I took it to mean loosen the head to fully disconnect power, which did nothing.
